Hello Vic. Thank you for sharing your experences. I could I. D. with you and your book brought some of the past feelings to the surface and I could see why I was so mixed up over some events that happened. God Bless you for your guts to come forward with your helping others. Mel Havener

Victor, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the courage and strength it takes to stand up and tell your story in the hopes of ending domestic violence. I am also a survivor of domestic abuse, after years of rebuilding myself and completing my cycle of breaking the chain, I too am speaking out on the effects of child abuse and how to turn a negative life back into a positive one. I have been involved in ALC centers in MN. to help staff understand the behaviors of victims and how to get through to them and help them. I am now just getting into the speaking setting. I want to thank you for giving me someone to look up too for support! Thanks for all you do! Scott

I just want to say i think your book is one of the best books i have read. i am a young single mom with four kids and i have been through alot. i am trying to do the best that i can. times get hard and my oldest dauther has seen so much. she is too young to read your book but she can relate. so im going to keep your book so when she gets older she will be able to see that you can be a better person and not be so down about her life and try to help with other people with those same problems. so thank you for telling you story and for every one else telling there stories.

Victor, thank you so much for putting the word out there about family abuse. I have experienced this in my own family because of my alcoholic mother. She eventually sobered up and we became very close. She passed away on Christmas Day of 2004 with alot of guilt concerning my sister and I. I think my experience with abuse has made me a better parent. Your book really sucked me in and I read it in less than two days! Also, Magic was my favorite character in Blood In, Blood Out. Thanks again!!

Dear Victor: Thank you so much for your book. I have not been able to put it down. Words cannot express my thoughts and feelings right now. Thank you for your advocacy work and bringing your self to this fight and challenge to end domestic violence. Too many people do not listen or understand. Sincerely, Kathy

I saw you speak in Madison WI in2003 you touched us with your story...brought me to tears and I shared with you briefly in the handshake line that I to along with my sister (I was 15, my sister 17)when we left home due to abuse. Keep up the spirit; your story means so very much to all of us. I think of the courage of survivors daily as an Advocate (my lifes calling and career)at Harbor House Domestic Abuse Programs in Appleton WI. I stayed here a few years ago with my children breaking free from an abusive marriage...after much counseling (hospitalization) and support I went on to build a new life for my daughter, son and I...we built a new Habitat for Humanity home in 2001; itis beautiful. This past year I suffered thru 2 car accidents (neither my fault) and 3 surgeries...one was for kidney cancer found when checking for internal injuries from the 2nd car crash...a true blessing it was found; all looks well so far. I did have a CAT scan 2wks prior due to kidney stones on the other kidney but they did not use contrast dye...the cancer was found 2wks later when they used the important dye...6wks later I had to have vertebrae in my neck fused due to significant injuries...I am back at work and doing well; still a single Mom soldiering on. I avoid Memorial Drive on a Saturday night(both accidents happened same lane same day of week same road...laughs...one 11-13-04 the other 01-22-05) to bad I wouldn't have such luck playing the lotto!! Keep soldiering on in you special way and thank you for the hug I sure needed it; heres to a hug back...pass it on to your special family
