Vic
Oscar Varona told me about your book signing, but I was out of town. Sorry I missed it. And I thought I had it bad when my parents moved at the end of my junior year at Coral Park. Westchester was a great place to grow up. Reading your book every day while I am on the exercise cycle at the gym...find myself laughing out loud one minute & tears swelling up the next. Great book!! Painful message. I can see by your website it has a great ending. Thanks for the memories & the message.

Hi Victor,
I just got through reading your book. I loved it. I would like to know when you will be in Texas so that I can get you to sign my copy. I live in Lubbock, Texas and I know your coming to this area is not happening..no one ever comes to Lubbock. Just let me know when you will be in Texas so I can bring you my book to sign. Always a fan...Diana

Dear Victor;
I thought after your appearance on Dianne Reams' show you would be inundated with responce, so here's another. I found your concise words hit to the core of how abuse (in all it's forms) functions. The honesty and work behind the message you bring is an inspiration. I am currently going through a reinvention of my life through seeking a masters degree in art therapy and counceling. I am a blackbelt in korean karate and am raising two young girls in this discipline. I hope to start a practice centered around helping underpriveledged children in the inner city using holistic means; yoga, martial arts, art, acting. I believe someday our paths just might cross and I look forward to that possibility. God bless you and your family, may your pathway always carry light!

Dear Victor,
I am excited to say that I have the priveledge to work with your sister Carmen. She is so amazing and my own personal inspiration... I am so excited about your book because I myself have been a child of a severly abusive father... God Bless you for writing your story and God Bless you for making Carmen so happy! She is so proud of you. She has your book on her desk to promote it for all... Your family is truly amazing and I am proud to have met your mother and other siblings... God has given you special people to help you through your journey... He will continue to do so...
God Bless,

Victor:
I can relate to you and am sorry for your poor childhood. I too have suffered the many beatings from my parent. Only it was my mother! My father was working hard to support us and rarely spent any time with us. My mother beat me more than my other sibling of eight! This was because, I stood up for my rights, and got beated more. This continued most of my growing up, until I was old enough to fight back, when I told her to stop, or I would strike her back. Then, she restrained herself. There were many more confrontations through-out my teens. I stopped school at the tenth grade and started working. Eventually I left home, got a good job, and continued my education and a new life! My younger siblings did the same, when they were old enough. Fortunately, we all turned out okay and are good parents, citizens and have a decent life. Good luck to you and your campaign to help others!

Victor:
Thank you so much for what you stand for and for what you are doing on behalf of others. Your tragic childhood has been and is shared by many others around the world and we all hope that someday we can put an end to abuse of all kinds, not only to humans but to animals as well.

Victor, great interview on Diane Rehm. Sorry my other email was a novel. Your site is now bookmarked and we'll check it out in the classroom. Many of the kids are influenced by gangs and violent homelives. Since they all have seen Blood In/Blood Out many times, they'll be happy to meet "Magic Mike" in real life.
