Mario

Hello Victor, I Just saw you on the Montel show and have to say you are one of the most powerful people I have ever seen. To have gone through your younger years in a living hell that your home was and come up on top is just incredible. I wish you all the success and happiness that you so richly deserve, and want to congratulate you on have the strength to speak out about domestic violence. Good luck with your book. May the road rise up to meet you May the wind be always at your back Thank you and god blees

Dear Mr. Rivas - I have been a fan of yours for many years. I watched a program a couple of years ago, or so, where you discussed your childhood abuse. I was then, as I am now, an advid supporter of families surviving domestic violence. I hold a great admiration for your compassion & dedication in educating ALL survivors of domestic violence. I believe if your words and experience reaches out and touches only one person - it is the best feeling in the world to know that YOU have made that person believe in themselves. I thank you for your brilliance, compassion, and for being LATINO and standing up and saying ..

I have also participated in many domestic violence projects and your story has motivated me to continue donating time and support to those who need it. It would so nice if you could ever make a visit to my home Town Watsonville, CA if you ever do I would love to meet you in person.. God Bless you and loved ones

Victor, I am an 18 year old girl who was abused for 16 years of my life. I finally was removed from my home in the year of 2003 and put into a foster home. I just want to say thank you for writing about abuse. Many people do not realize how much of this goes on in homes. I too would like to write about my expirence in an abusive situation and I hope it has an impact on people like yours did. I remember when I was about four I called 911 on my father the police came, my dad was drunk, my mother, brother, and I told the police what had happend but they believed a drunk man over us. Finally when I was in 5th grade my dad was caught. They put him in a mental institution and he was made to quit drinking. Well he got out and took the anger of the whole deal on me because I was the one who told on him. I am graduating this year and plan to become a psycologist for abused children and adults. I am watching you on Montel right now and I can relate to many things you are saying and I now do not feel alone. Thank you again for coming out with the truth of abuse. Shauna

Hello Mr. Rivers, another Montel viewer here. I have also had the opportunity to hear you speak at the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence in September of 2004. I am employed at a Domestic Violence Shelter in Louisiana. Everyday we deal with women and children that are experiencing what you and your family experienced. It is Wonderful to hear a male voice speaking out against something that is so common to many. On behalf of the women, children, and employees of domestic Violence, Thank You!!!!!
