dear victor,
i saw you on montel yesterday and was so moved by your story. Being Cuban myself and knowing the love and affection that cubans have for their children and family made your story even more tragic to me. Thank goodness for all the people in your life who believed that every child deserved a chance and also for your Mama y la ayuda de Dios.

Hi Victor
I watched the Montel Williams shown yesterday and your story brought me to tears.
The abuse that you and your siblings suffered at the hands of this man was horrendous, and for the police to turn the other way is both shocking & disgraceful.
You are amazing to come through all that pain and make an incredibly succesful life for you and your family.
I applaud you, I will definately buy your book
Thank you for sharing ,
All the best
Pam

Mr. Rivers,
After watching your interview on the Montel show on 5/24, I have not been able to think about you and your situation. My Mom, brother and I lived in an abusive household until I was 8 years old; however, my brother and I never had a hand raised to us. We had to witness the abuse on my mother. When we did get out, my Mom met the most amazing man who adopted us within months of their marriage. Life has been wonderful ever since. My dad now also had a horrific childhood and it always amazed me how he turned out to be such an incredible human being. I give him and you so much credit for being strong enough to overcome the lifestyle you were forced to live for so many years. Thank you for being such a great role model and inspiration for so many people. I can't wait to read your book!!
I loved what you said on the Montel show about being glad that you didn't kill your father because God had other plans for you. The thought often crossed my Mom's mind to do that very same thing but thank God that she didn't or our lives would have never turned out the way they did.
God bless you!

Mr. Rivers,
I watched your interview on the Montel show yesterday and I was really touched by it. For a young man to endure the pain that you, your mother and siblings endured must have been worst than we could ever imagine. I am a true believer that a person (male or female) can take their tragedy and turn them into triumph.
You Mr. Rivers have done this and I know that through the grace of God many people have and will continue to be touched and healed by your testimony. In life there are many obstacles that a person must go through but the one thing that I keep in mind is that healed people heal people and you Mr. Rivers must continue to let your voice be heard. May God continue to bless you and your ENTIRE family and you take this journey through life.

Mr.Rivas,
I saw you on the Montel Show and I was really moved I have never been in a situation like you, but you have really inspirated me to do something with my life as far as helping someone out. I am currently enrolled in school and I am trying to get my associates degree in law I really didnt know what tye of law I wanted to get into but after seeing you on the show I have decided to see if I can go into something that will help abused and neglected children. I dont have any kids of my own and i dont think I will ever be able to have any. I love kids and hate to see when parents abuse thier children just because they think that they can get away with it. It makes me sad because like me who love them and cant have any have to sit back and watch these horrible things being done to them and we cant do anything aboutit. Please keep up the good work. I have always admired you since I saw you in Blood in Blood out.

Hi, Mr.Rivers
I didn't get to see the montal show
yesterday.but i was on the phone with my sister ,she was watching the show and was telling me your story as it was being told on the tv over the phone. we were both horrified at the violent abuse that you went through.Mr.RIVERS your a very strong man and i'm proud to see you stand up against such terrible things you let people like me know its ok to speak out against abuse i'v suffered abuse from a family member from the age of 2 years old thats my earlest memory. Then I went into a marriage that was very abusive also so i also know how abuse is and how it makes the victim feel alone and terrified. Mr.Rivers you are an insperation to all of us that have suffered from family abuse .Thank you for telling your story .

I saw your story on Montel yesterday afternoon. It was an incredible story. I was mentally and sometimes physically abused (my mom took the majority of physical abuse). I now have a 12 year old son of my own and the concern of not doing the same thing to my child as was done to me was a big concern. After hearing you I am more confident in the fact that I won't necessarily do to my son what was done to us. I love my son and have never hit him and quite frankly can't imagine anyone looking at a child and harming them. Thank you for telling your story. I applaud your strength.

Dear Victor: I saw you on the Montel Williams Show this morning. You reminded me of Dave Peltzer, only his abuser was his mother. You moved my Mama and I to tears, we cried so hard that if someone had came to our door at that time, they would have thought someone had died. You are truly an inspiration to children that are being abused. You are their light at the end of what they might think as an unending tunnel.
Sincerely,
Andrea
