I just saw your interview with Montel last week. I bought your book right away and I just finished it today. I also went through some child abuse myself, not as bad as you, but I can relate to your pain. I still suffer from anger and have affected my kids, sad to say.

I saw you on the Montel show, and was touched by your story. I immediately bought your book. Thank you for sharing a part of yourself that must have been so difficult to allow others to see. You are an inspiration.

I always admired your work but I now admire you as a person. Please continue to speak out and hopefully more people will join this fight. Also when will you be back in New York City for a book signing?

Victor: I could totaly relate to your story. I too suffered at the hands of an abusive father, then went on to live 4 years of hell married to a man who left me for dead in an alley. I suffered what your mother did with your little brother. My baby only lived 1 1/2 years. All this during a time when the police could do nothing but ask him to leave and cool off. It was a family matter.
I salute you and others like us who have overcome.
God Bless you, Linda

Mr. Rivers, I also watched Montel getting ready for work. I work in the mental health field, I use to do case management for people with a mental illness and now I do evaluations for people who need to be hospitalized in a psyche hospital. I have seen what abuse does to kids and how their adult lives can become. It breaks my heart on a daily basis. Thank you for bringing this out from an adult successful man. It has to stop. The area I live in (just moved) it seems to be accepted by too many parents thats it is ok, so I make many calls to Department of Human Services. Its a "tradition" and with you and others speaking hopefully this "tradition" will change. I bought your book and will be bringing it to work with me today, hopefully it will not be busy, and I will share it.
Thank you, Pat

Dear Victor,
While you were at the Montel show I was left speechless of what a man could do to his sons and wife. Well, we know we shouldn't call him a man but a coward. I honestly think that you are a brave and strong guy if you are able to retell the horrific events that occured in your life. You are inspiration! You are the type of man that someone could say "He is my role model!" Because you are. You have inpired me to want to live each day to its fullest potential.
Sincerely,
Laura Sanchez
