I wanted to thank you for sharing your story with the rest of the world. What you endure was terrible and no one should be subject to that. In the book your mom stated,"If you can save one person from being subjected to the torture that was our life, then whatever loss of privacy we experience would be worth it". Not only are you saving lives but you are a inspiration to others. Thank you for being our Angel! Lissette

Victor, your book was one of the most profound books I have read in decades. I emailed the Oprah Winfrey show trusting that you could be a guest thereby touching even more people by giving them hope with your story and with your healing. God bless you and your family. Thank you for sharing your story - your book touched my soul, Every blessing, Nancy Louise Shoemaker

Mr. Rivers, After seeing you on Montel, I immediately went and bought your book and was glued to it until I finished! I am horrified to think you and your family actually lived through such a nightmare. As I was reading, I couldn't help but think a few of the incidents you went through were at the same age that my son is now, and I can't imagine how anyone could put an innocent child through such torture on a daily basis. You are such an inspiration to so many people and you should be proud of the person you are and the accomplishments you have made. Thank you for sharing your story, God Bless you and your family, Tracy

I watched your life unfold on Montel and ordered your book immediately. I just got finished and am in awe and your courage to end the cycle of violence. With statistics in the 90's on people in prison who suffered at the hands of their parents....I am amazed and inspired at how a few escape that route...Thank the Lord for 2nd moms. Help needs to be given to those in prison now, in order for that vicous cycle to stop. Your story was compelling, hard to read, horrendous at times, so much so, that I can't even imagine "living it". You are an inspiration and I will do my part to make people aware of domestic violence. My 15 year old daughter is reading it now... You touched my life Victor, thank you.
