Thanks Victor for speaking out on behalf of all those who dont't know how. May you and your son Keep up the Great Work. By the ways I finished reading your book and there was vivid describtions about the violence in your childhood home, it was very tragic.
Wishing you all the best in life,
Ana

Victor -
I can't wait to read your book. It's unusual to hear a story of violence from a male perspective. I am proud of you for speaking out & am blessed by your faith in moving forward with your life in a positive way. GOD is definitely with you! He is our GOD who rescues us from violence, as Scripture says. I'm still working through abuse issues & know that GOD is with me in this journey.
Thank you for telling your story.

Dear Victor, I picked up your book from my local library and I'm so very glad I did. It was difficult to read, but I could not put it down. My heart goes out to those suffering such abuse as you did. I pray for God's abundant blessing on your work in informing others about this terrible act of selfishness.

i just finished reading your book...my heart goes out to you and your entire family- it makes me realize that this type of torture and inhumane behavior exists in very 'normal' looking families...i will never understand how a father or mother can inflict such pain and suffering on their own flesh and blood ...i totally understand the fear and inablilty to help yourself as a child - when your father told you to do something, no matter what it was, you do it bacuase that's all you know, and you are really brainwashed by him...also, your poor older brother tony...your father made him spy and report . that poor guy...i hope he has been able to get help specifically for that issue...he will carry guilt forever if he doesn't get help...he also had no other choice but to do as he was told...you are doing so much good for others and yourself - the bible says that God turns ALL things to good for those who love Him - and this is certainly a sign of that !!! I hope things are wonderful for your whole family now - and may much joy and happiness and love and courage and peace abound in your lives - thank you for having the courage to expose the truth ...sincerely, Reen

VICTOR,
MY MOTHER AND I SAW YOU ON THE MONTEL SHOW....OUR FAMILY HAS ENDURED THESE "PRIVATE FAMILY MATTERS FOR THREE GENERATIONS. iT TOOK MY COURAGE TO FINALLY BREAK THE SILENCE. IT HAS BEEN ENPOWERING TO BE ABLE TO SPEAK OF THE ABUSE AND ABUSER AND FINALLY LET GO OF THE ANGER, HURT, AND FEELINGS OF BETRAYAL. MY MOTHER AND I WERE BOTH TOUCHED BY YOUR STORY, COURAGE, AND ACTIVISIM. BREAKING THE SILENCE IS SO IMPORTANT..IT HAS ALLOWED TO CHAIN OF VIOLENCE TO BE BROKEN IN MY FAMILY....MY DAUGTHER WILL NOT BE A VICTIM. ANYONE WHO IS CARRYING THIS BURDEN OF SECRECY, PLEASE BE SILENT NO MORE. SPEAK TO A FRIEND, A CONFIDANT, ANYONE YOU ARE COMFORTABLE SPEAKING TO...JUST DON' TLET THE CYCLE CONTINUE. YOU HAVE THE STRENGTH TO BREAK THAT CYCLE WITHIN YOU. YOU JUST HAVE TO CHOOSE YOUR MOMENT.

Mr. Rivers...
I saw you on Montel, and immediately went out and bought your book.
I can't say I lived the exact horrors you did, but I can say my siblings and I weren't far behind.
The abuser wasn't my "father", it was our mother. Although, she did suffer many injustices with my "father", once she left him, she turned that anger on us. She became an alcoholic and just down right mean.
Thank you, for being you, and for having the courage to speak out and do the right thing. I also have been encouraged to write my story on paper. But, honestly, I don't know where to even begin. There's so much I remember, and so much I've blocked out, and even more that I'd love to forget.
Again, muchas gracia, y que Dios lo bendiga y a su familia tambien.

Dear Victor
I saw you on the Montel Williams show and bought your book. I have not been a victim of abuse, but do know people who have. I think the one good thing that came of your abuse was your abiilty to be such a great father. God has finally rewarded you with a terrific son.
